Now, this is the spot I could be inserting an ad for a national brand....I'd rather not, and here is why!
Whenever I was driving around in town the other day, it occurred to me. Everything; every aspect of commerce is being dominated by big national brands. How is the little guy supposed to compete?
The top performing Social Media folks in the business domain are putting out over 400+ pieces of content per day. The average American is viewing anywhere between 4,000 and 10,000 ads per day. The local business can't purchase attention, so they must work off trust.
1 in 10 folks are business owners. So, I have a few in this readership. If you want this spot, email me at jonathan@rutherfordwoof.com.

Dog Park of the Week
General Bragg Bark Park
1520 W. College St.
Murfreesboro, TN 37129
Hours
Open from sunrise to 1/2-hour before sunset daily, year-round.
Bring your canine friends for an off-leash romp in this large fenced dog park. There are four sections with gates between them:
- A small dog area with a sheltered picnic table for the humans and a small agility fixture for the dogs.
- An entry area with a watering station.
- A large dog area with lots of room for them to run, and tables, benches, and a picnic shelter for you.
- A separate agility area.
Top it off with an on-leash stroll along the greenway. It runs right past the Bark Park along the West Fork Stones River.
Now for those of you who have yet to visit...this one can be a little tricky to find, so here is a picture of the drive way you are looking for.

Restaurants
If you are looking for a place to bring your dog while enjoying a nice meal, there are many options for you here locally. Since the weather is still nice out at night, why not try some patio experiences at one of the following? Each of these establishments should allow you to bring your well-behaved leashed dog to the patio without issue.

*PRO-TIP....if you are ever considering taking your dog to a restaurant, look up the restaurant on Google Maps. When you click on the name and are shown the address, hours, website, etc. You will notice a tab under the picture which is labeled "About". Click that tab and scroll to the very bottom until you find a section titled "Pets".
Photos?
🖼️ Hey, I have been thinking about having you participate in a little bit of a photo contest. Now here's the deal.
First, I want to hear back from all of you!
So we're going to have a little bit of a poll.
Leave a comment or reply back to me at the following email. jonathan@rutherfordwoof.com
Just throw your multiple choice answer in the subject line!
Would you have any interest in the following?
- (A.) A photo contest where there is a grand prize drawing?
- (B.) A random selection of "dog of the week" to be presented in each newsletter?
- (C.) A 12-month calendar which would showcase our dogs?
Story Time
Mr. Dibdin, in his "Tour through England," says, "I took with me last summer one of those spotted dogs called Danish, but the breed is Dalmatian. It was impossible for anything to be more sportive, yet more inoffensive, than this dog. Throughout the mountainous parts of Cumberland and Scotland his delight was to chase the sheep, which he would follow with great alertness even to the summits of the most rugged steeps; and when he had frightened them, and made them scamper to his satisfaction (for he never attempted to injure them), he constantly came back wagging his tail, and appearing very happy at those caresses which we, perhaps absurdly, bestowed upon him.
